“Receiving this scholarship would further reduce financial concerns for my family. My grandfather was diagnosed with cardiomegaly and unfortunately, we lost him last year. Therefore my dad is currently financially responsible for my grandma on top of rent, food, and bills for our family. I’ve remained aware that helping me pay for college would put further stress on them, and it wouldn’t be enough. I started working as soon as I turned sixteen, and I’ve been working at McDonald’s part-time for three years now. However, along with my extracurriculars, academic responsibilities, and at-home duties, it’s been challenging to make my part-time job flourish enough to pay the incredibly high tuition costs that come with pursuing my higher education. This scholarship would be an extremely beneficial gift towards covering part of my tuition and living expenses.”
